Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is scheduled to visit Tehran tomorrow, Sunday. This visit will be his first bilateral meeting with Iranian officials in Iran’s 14th government.
According to Ankara’s announcement, the main themes of the visit will include strengthening political and economic cooperation, increasing the volume of bilateral trade, and reviewing regional issues including Gaza, Syria, and the actions of the Zionist regime.
During his visit, Fidan will meet and discuss with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and a number of senior officials of the country. One of the important goals of these talks is to accelerate border trade infrastructure and advance the common goal of Iran and Turkey to increase the volume of bilateral trade to $30 billion.
Hakan Fidan had previously traveled to Tehran to attend the inauguration ceremony of Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezzekian. Tomorrow's visit is his first official bilateral visit to Iran.
Security and regional stability issues are also important focuses of the trip. Turkey has emphasized the importance of dialogue with Tehran on the Gaza crisis, developments in Syria, the Russia-Ukraine war, the situation in the South Caucasus, and reducing tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Trade relations between Iran and Turkey have also been growing in recent years. The volume of bilateral trade between the two countries reached $6.5 billion by October 2025.
