Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The Gaza Ministry of Public Health announced yesterday (Saturday, Nov 30) that following the continuation of the Zionist regime's airstrikes on Gaza and the worsening humanitarian situation in the region, the number of martyrs has reached 70,100 and the number of injured has exceeded 170,000.
This Palestinian institution says that in the past 48 hours, two more people have been martyred in Gaza hospitals and 11 injured people have been hospitalized.
UNICEF said in a statement today that acute malnutrition continues to threaten the lives of children in the Gaza Strip, a situation that will worsen as winter sets in, accelerating the spread of diseases and increasing the risk of death among the most vulnerable children.
The UN agency added that tests conducted by UNICEF to assess the nutritional status of children in Gaza in October showed that approximately 9,300 children under the age of five were suffering from acute malnutrition.
UNICEF said that large quantities of winter goods and supplies were waiting to enter the Strip at the Gaza border, and that Israel must ensure and facilitate the safe, rapid and unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell said that thousands of children under the age of five continued to suffer from acute malnutrition in Gaza, while many lacked adequate shelter, sanitation and protection from the harsh winter cold.
