Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The press office of the Ministry of Information and Culture announced today, Sunday (November 30), that Maulvi Sibghatullah Abid, Director of the National Museum, said at the welcoming ceremony: “The National Museum of Afghanistan, with its storage of more than hundreds of thousands of ancient artifacts from prehistoric to Islamic times, is one of the largest centers for preserving cultural heritage in the region and plays an irreplaceable role in introducing the country’s historical identity.”
Expressing his satisfaction with the visit, Turkish Ambassador Cenk Onal said: “Museums today are not just repositories of artifacts, but living bridges of cultural communication between nations and a factor in strengthening self-confidence and developing cultural diplomacy. "It was a great honor for us to visit the National Museum of Afghanistan, and its unique works demonstrate the depth of the common civilization of the region."
The Turkish delegation visited various sections of the museum, including the Buddhist relics of Bamiyan, the Bactrian gold treasury, coins from the Kushan and Islamic periods, and temporary exhibitions, and expert guides provided comprehensive explanations.
Finally, the Turkish ambassador recorded his note in the museum's diary and was presented with a volume of exquisite catalogs of historical and cultural artifacts of Afghanistan by the museum director.
This visit was carried out in order to strengthen cultural relations between Kabul and Ankara and expand cooperation in the field of preserving common heritage.
