Trump’s Use of Individual Crime for Election Tactics and Populist Political Purposes
After the terrorist incident in Washington and the killing of two US Special Guard officers, Trump adopted a strict policy against Afghan refugees, ranging from threatening deportation to suspending visa issuance and thorough vetting of all refugees. Political and international relations experts have strongly condemned Trump’s anti-immigrant actions and say that he, who has an anti-immigrant spirit, uses every opportunity; as in the recent incident, he made his intentions clear and took a stand not only against immigrants but also against Afghanistan and its people, calling the country “hell on earth.”
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Dr. Abdul Ali Hassani, an international relations expert, said in an interview with AVA that Trump’s statements about calling Afghanistan “hell on earth” reflect his specific political intentions. He always exploits any incident related to immigrants to create a climate of fear and reinforce the mentality in American society that immigrants are dangerous.
According to Mr. Hassani, Trump’s recent statements are in fact an electoral and populist tactic to magnify an individual crime in order to justify strict immigration policies and also attract conservative votes. Therefore, his words are more of a tool to achieve his desired political goals than reflecting the reality on the ground.
On the other hand, according to Hassani, Trump’s warnings to refugees and threats to suspend visas are not logical from a scientific and security perspective, because official statistics show that immigrants, even from war-torn countries, generally have lower crime rates than American citizens. As a result, these warnings are more of an expression of the Trump administration’s anti-immigrant policy than they are scientifically supported. From a human and legal perspective, this collective treatment of a nation is discriminatory and unfair.
This international analyst also stated that Trump's words could increase psychological pressure on Afghan immigrants, make the visa issuance process more difficult, and strengthen the negative view of some parts of American society towards them; but it should be known that there are strong legal and judicial structures in America, and no president can implement extremist policies without challenge. Also, civil society, media, and institutions supporting immigrants become active in such situations.
He concluded by emphasizing: Trump's words are more than a real analysis of the situation in Afghanistan, they are a political tool to create fear, strengthen anti-immigration discourse, and put pressure on the immigrant community; not a wise move in the field of security.

America is a symbol of crime and aggression in the world
In an interview with Ava, political analyst Wais Nasseri said: America is a symbol of crime in the world. The crimes committed by American forces in World War II in Japan, as well as in Vietnam, Afghanistan, and other parts of the world, will not be erased from the memory of history.
According to Mr. Naseri, although the US called Afghanistan its “friend” after 2001, it ultimately stabbed it in the back and brought Afghanistan to the brink of collapse during its 20 years of presence. He added: The US either destroyed all of the country’s political, security, and economic infrastructure or left it half-dead.
Emphasizing that “America cannot be trusted at any time,” he added: Throughout its political history, America has been a symbol of murder and crime in the world, and wherever there is terror and terrorism in the world, America is behind it.
According to Naseri, today, Trump is imposing sanctions and restrictions on all Afghan immigrants, threatening deportation and preventing the entry of immigrants because of the killing of an American soldier; while this is an individual crime and the judicial system must deal with it and cannot be generalized to the entire Afghan people.
Nasseri stated: In the 240 years of American history, the only president who has violated the Constitution and international laws and has not adhered to any global agreement is Trump.
He said about the attacker named Lucknowal, an Afghan citizen: Those who cooperated with the United States for 20 years were ignored after arriving in this country and were sometimes even threatened with deportation. Therefore, the motive for "Lucknowal"'s attack on the American soldier may have been revenge and psychological complexities.
According to Nasseri, it is possible that this person was commissioned by a group to commit this crime or perhaps he was a member of extremist groups; in any case, we should not forget that America has always betrayed its colleagues and has never valued them.
He continued: The crimes that the US intelligence agency committed in Afghanistan were not even committed by the communists, the KGB, and Blackwater, and the Afghan people remember these crimes. On the other hand, America is an unreliable partner and cannot be relied upon.
Nasseri believes: After the recent security incident in America and the attack by an armed attacker on the country’s special security guard, which may have been planned by the Trump administration itself, anti-Afghanism in the country has reached its peak. After this incident, Trump called Afghanistan hell on earth and its people hell, while previously he called Afghanistan his strategic friend.
