EU provides €4.7 million for literacy and vocational skills training in Afghanistan
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), with financial support from the European Union, has launched a €4.7 million project to provide literacy and vocational skills training to 7,500 youth and adults in five provinces of the country.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The program specifically targets returnee and host communities.
 
Participants will receive a combination of literacy and practical livelihood skills training tailored to local economic needs and opportunities.
 
UNESCO announced that the project is community-based, flexible, and aligned with the principles of "Do No Harm."
 
The main goal of the initiative is to sustainably empower individuals and local communities and create long-term economic opportunities.
 
It was said that details about the target provinces and the exact timing of the program will be announced soon.
