Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The press office of the Ministry of Information and Culture issued a press release saying that Maulvi Qudratullah Jamal, Deputy Minister of Tourism, Finance and Administration of the Ministry, met with Sergey Stopachev, Head of the Russian House of Science and Culture, and his accompanying delegation.
At the beginning, the Head of the Russian House of Science and Culture expressed his special interest in the cultural development sector and said: “2025 is a historic year for Afghanistan and Russia, and Russia has taken practical and serious steps in recognizing the Islamic Emirate.”
Mr. Stopachev added that a “cultural and educational forum” will be held in Kabul next year. This forum will focus on culture, language, heritage and innovation, and documentary and promotional programs will be prepared to introduce Afghan tourism and be exhibited in Russia. The event will also provide a platform for attracting investment in the tourism sector.
The Russian side agreed to cooperate with Afghanistan in exhibitions, and it was agreed to hold joint cultural and tourism exhibitions in both countries.
Stopachev also praised the development projects of the Islamic Emirate and said that they want to increase the number of Russian tourists to Afghanistan.
Maulvi Qudratullah Jamal, Deputy Minister of Tourism, Finance and Administration of the Ministry of Information and Culture, welcomed the Russian delegation in the meeting and noted that Russia was one of the first countries to recognize Afghanistan after British colonization, and now, with the recognition of the Islamic Emirate by the Russian Federation, history has repeated itself.
Mr. Jamal considered the security of the country, especially security for tourists, an important opportunity and assured that the Ministry of Information and Culture is ready to welcome Russian tourists.
He added: Afghanistan is a country with scenic areas, natural beauties, historical and religious monuments, traditional culture, good food and handicrafts, and we not only invite Russian tourists, but there are also very good opportunities for investment in this sector.
In conclusion, the two sides emphasized the continuation of cooperation in the cultural and tourist fields.
