Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): US President Donald Trump reposted a message on the social network TruthSocial on Saturday, describing the attacks on Venezuela as a "warning against Putin."
The text, titled "David Marcus: Trump's invasion of Venezuela is a wake-up call for Putin," was published on the Fox News website, describing Venezuela as "a Russian-backed state."
In this analysis, the author claims that Donald Trump has “undermined Russia’s global power” and that by supporting Ukraine, he has “managed to stop the Russian war machine.”
In recent months, the Trump administration has repeatedly attacked boats near Venezuela under the pretext of fighting drug trafficking, killing at least 80 crew members.
American media have also spoken of Washington’s plan to exile Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and have reported on espionage operations aimed at changing the government in Venezuela.
However, in an analysis republished by Trump, the author says that despite the US’s aggressive stance against Venezuela, “the real adversary is not Maduro, it is Putin,” and that the United States is trying to reduce Russia’s power in the international arena.
This is despite the fact that the US and Russia have held several rounds of direct talks at the level of senior officials, including presidents, in recent months to reduce the level of hostilities.
