Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): According to Al Jazeera, Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnwirakul announced in a message on Facebook: "We will continue military operations as long as there is no threat to our territory and people."
Referring to the attack by the country's fighter jets on positions in Cambodian territory, he added: "Our actions this morning speak for themselves."
The Thai Prime Minister rejected US President Donald Trump's recent claim that the roadside bomb explosion and the killing of Thai soldiers were accidental, emphasizing that the explosions were definitely not accidental.
Trump announced on his social media account Truth Social last Friday that the leaders of Thailand and Cambodia had agreed to cease fire and return to a peace agreement.
He also claimed that a roadside bomb that killed and wounded several Thai soldiers was “accidental.”
While Trump claimed that Thailand and Cambodia had stopped fighting, Cambodia’s defense ministry said that Thai F-16s were still bombing targets inside the country.
The fighting, which has been taking place along the 800-kilometer border between Thailand and Cambodia, stems from a long-standing dispute over ownership of historic temples. The recent clashes have displaced about half a million people in both countries and killed at least 20 people.
