Danish Prime Minister: Rutte cannot negotiate with Trump on behalf of Greenland
The Danish Prime Minister said that the NATO Secretary General does not have the duty to negotiate on behalf of Denmark or Greenland.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen reacted today (Thursday) to reports that NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte discussed the future of Greenland during a meeting with US President Donald Trump.

He told reporters: "Our red lines are the same as they have been all along and will continue to be; that we will not give up sovereignty (over Greenland) and that the future of Greenland must be defined by its people and that Greenland is part of Denmark."

Frederiksen continued to note that while the situation remains difficult and serious, some progress has been made.

The Danish Prime Minister emphasized that discussions and negotiations can now focus on Arctic security.
