US President Donald Trump has decided to withdraw his invitation to Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney to join the Peace Council he recently launched.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: Trump wrote to Carney in a post on the social network "Truth Social": "Please consider this message as a formal announcement that I am withdrawing your invitation to the Peace Council."
The decision was made after Carney's speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, where the Canadian Prime Minister condemned the use of the economy as a weapon and the imposition of tariffs as a lever of pressure by powerful countries.
The Canadian Prime Minister's Office had previously announced that Carney had received an invitation to join the Peace Council and intended to accept it, but the Canadian government has emphasized that it will not pay any membership fees for the council.
