Telephone conversation between the presidents of Iran and Turkey; Erdogan announced Turkey
In a telephone consultation with his Iranian counterpart, the Turkish President emphasized that Ankara is ready to mediate between Iran and the US to reduce tensions.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: The Turkish Presidential Office announced on Friday that President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of this country had a telephone consultation with President Masoud Pazeshkian of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Ankara announced that in this conversation, the heads of the two countries discussed bilateral relations between Turkey and Iran and the escalation of military tensions in the region.

According to the report; During this call, Erdogan emphasized that "Turkey is ready to assume the role of facilitator between Iran and the US to reduce tensions and resolve issues."

The Turkish President also announced that today he will host Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araqchi, who has visited this country.

Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, Iranian Foreign Minister, upon his arrival in Istanbul for today's consultations, said: This visit was planned a long time ago and is in response to the visit of Mr. Hakan Fidan, the esteemed Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, to Iran a few months ago, as well as to review bilateral relations and regional and international issues.

He continued: Iran and Turkey are two great neighbors and we have always had close consultations. We have close relations in the political, economic, social and cultural fields as well as close consultations on regional issues.

Stating that the regional issues are naturally very serious, Araghchi added: There are serious challenges and the goals expressed by the United States and others require us to have closer consultations and review regional issues and coordinate positions.

The Iranian Foreign Minister stated: We should also exchange views on ways to deal with and overcome these challenges.

Araghchi continued, reacting to the hostile action of the European Union against the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps: Europe is actually a continent in decline and has lost its role on the international level and is losing it more and more every day.

He added: I am surprised that they are doing this on their own. This shows that Europe has neither a correct understanding of the international situation nor a correct understanding of the conditions of our region, nor a correct understanding of its own interests.

Araghchi clarified: The decision they made was a big strategic mistake; like the previous mistake they made in the so-called snapback issue and diminished and diminished their role in the issues of our region.

Our country's Foreign Minister stated: I think that very soon, like snapback, which after a while said that they made a mistake, they will very soon come to the conclusion that they made a mistake in this matter as well.
