Al-Aqsa Mosque preacher warns of efforts to change the status of the holy site
The preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque has warned of the Zionist regime’s efforts to change the legal status and Islamic identity of the holy site, stressing that the new restrictions on worshippers are part of a pre-planned plan.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Sheikh Ikrimah Sabri, the preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque, announced in an interview with Palestinian media that the restrictions imposed on Muslims’ presence in Al-Aqsa Mosque, which were initiated by order of Itamar Ben-Gwer, the Minister of Internal Security of the Zionist regime, are a clear attempt to change the current status of this holy site before the holy month of Ramadan.

He clarified: These measures are not a temporary security decision, but part of an organized plan to change the legal status of Al-Aqsa Mosque and deprive it of Islamic sovereignty.

Intensification of Organized Attacks
The preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque had previously warned in a separate statement about the unprecedented and organized escalation of the Zionist regime’s attacks on this holy site. According to him, the occupiers, by abusing the war conditions and the focus of world public opinion on other developments, are in the final implementation of the plan to “divide the time and space” of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Referring to the significant increase in settlers’ attacks on the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Sabri said: These attacks are no longer sporadic, but are carried out on a daily basis and under the official and military support of the Zionist regime.

Excavations and threats to the foundations of the mosque
He also warned about the extensive underground excavations around Al-Aqsa Mosque and towards the Silwan area, describing these actions as a direct threat to the foundations of this holy site.

The preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque also expressed concern about the attempts to seize the historic cemetery of Bab al-Rahma, saying that the occupiers are seeking to turn parts of this place into Jewish synagogues.

Call for immediate action
Sheikh Ikrimah Sabri concluded by warning about the catastrophic consequences of these actions and called on the Islamic community and religious and legal institutions to take immediate and coordinated action to prevent the implementation of these plans.

Al-Aqsa Mosque has been the scene of repeated attacks by Zionist settlers in recent years, supported by the regime's security forces. International institutions and human rights organizations have also warned about the changing historical and legal status of this holy site, but so far no effective action has been taken to stop this process.

According to observers, the intensification of restrictions against Al-Aqsa Mosque, along with the presence of extremist currents in the Zionist regime's cabinet, indicates a targeted effort to impose new realities on the ground. Studies show that taking advantage of war conditions and the relative silence of the international community has provided a suitable opportunity to advance these plans.
