The Egyptian Foreign Minister announced intensive diplomatic contacts with Iran, the US and several influential countries in the region, and emphasized the absence of a military solution, calling for Tehran and Washington to return to the negotiating table.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced today (Saturday) on the social network Facebook that within the framework of implementing the orders of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, to reduce tensions in the Middle East, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Ati has conducted a series of intensive diplomatic contacts with key regional and international parties.

According to the statement, Abdel Ati held separate talks with Seyyed Abbas Araqchi, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Steve Whittaker, US Special Representative for the Middle East, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Hakan Fidan, Foreign Minister of Turkey, and Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Oman.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry also announced that these calls took place at a time of escalating tensions and growing concerns about the future of regional stability.

According to the statement, the Egyptian Foreign Minister stressed the need to “intensify efforts to reduce tensions” and stated that the only way to overcome the current crises is through diplomacy and dialogue.

He stressed in these calls that “there is no military solution to the multiple challenges facing the region” and that any escalation of the conflict could lead the Middle East towards widespread insecurity and instability.

The Cairo statement also emphasized the need for continued communication and constructive engagement between the parties involved, especially Iran and the United States.

According to Abdel Ati, continuing these communications could pave the way for Tehran and Washington to return to the negotiating table and reach a peaceful and balanced agreement, one that is based on mutual respect and common interests and that will strengthen regional security and stability.

According to the statement, the negotiating parties agreed to continue their efforts to contain tensions and overcome the current crises through diplomatic solutions.
