Afghan Voice Agency (AVNA) - Kabul: A press conference entitled "Information on Hajj quota and expenses" was held at the government's information and media center on Saturday.
Maulvi Noor Mohammad Saqib, Minister of Guidance, Hajj and Endowments, says Saudi Arabia has allocated 30,000 pilgrims to Afghanistan in 1405 AH.
Maulvi Saqib added that the necessary contracts to regulate the movement of pilgrims, perform the Hajj rituals correctly and provide relevant services were finalized.
He said that after the victory of the Islamic Emirate, 87 thousand 104 former Hajj applicants remained across the country, some of whose turns even reached until 1412 AH.
Noor Mohammad Saqib added that the cost of this year's Hajj has been finalized based on accurate measurement and calculation of Hajj expenses and with the aim of avoiding unnecessary expenses.
Maulvi Saqib said that the cost of one pilgrim this year is 266 thousand 400 afghanis and the additional cost of the Hajj process is 7 billion 818 million 307 thousand 200 afghanis.
According to him, although after the final calculation, each pilgrim was added about 16.69 Afghanis, but due to the efforts of the relevant ministry and with the compassion of the Islamic Emirate, this additional amount is not charged for the convenience of pilgrims.
Sheikh al-Hadith Saqib added that the cost of Hajj this year has been reduced by 15,690 Afghanis per pilgrim compared to last year.
He said that following the serious efforts of the Minister of Guidance, Hajj and Endowments, Saudi Arabia promised to increase Afghanistan's Hajj quota in the coming years.
The Minister of Guidance, Hajj and Endowments said that a large part of the quota was distributed transparently and fairly among previous applicants who had registered across the country.
He also said that in 1447 AH, new registration for Hajj was successfully carried out across the country and through lottery, the pilgrims selected for this year of Hajj will soon be sent to the holy lands.
Maulvi Saqib said that separate quotas have been provided for general pilgrims and quotas for Mujahideen, government employees, families of martyrs, disabled people and migrants.
According to him, to properly guide pilgrims in the rituals of Hajj, teacher tests will be taken from scholars from 34 provinces of the country and those who pass will go to the Holy Mosques with the pilgrims.
He noted that in order to improve the organization of pilgrims and teach standards of Hajj rituals, the Ministry of Guidance, Hajj and Endowments will hold training seminars for members of the Hajj mission and teachers.
Saqib said that to facilitate the regular movement of pilgrims to Saudi Arabia, contracts have been signed with Ariana Afghan and Cam Air to transport pilgrims from the country's four flight zones to Medina and Jeddah.
He continued that all contracts related to accommodation, food, transportation and other services of pilgrims have been implemented on time.
