The Emir of Kuwait has issued an Amiri decree ordering new changes to the composition of the country's cabinet.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: Mashal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Emir of Kuwait, has issued an Amiri decree ordering new changes to the composition of the country's cabinet. These changes include amending one appointment and introducing seven new ministers.
 
According to the decree, Omar Saud Abdulaziz Al-Omar was appointed as Minister of Communications and Information Technology. The following new appointments have also been announced in the Kuwaiti cabinet:
 
- Osama Khalid Abdullah Boudi: Minister of Commerce and Industry
 
- Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah: Minister of Foreign Affairs, replacing Abdullah Ali Al-Yahia
 
- Reem Ghazi Saud Al-Fulaij: Minister of Development and Sustainability
 
- Tariq Hamad Nasser Al-Jalahma: Minister of Youth and Sports
 
- Abdulaziz Nasser Abdulaziz Al-Marzouq: Minister of Economic Affairs and Investment
 
- Abdullah Sabih Abdullah Buftin: Minister of Information and Culture
 
- Yaqoub Al-Sayyid Yousef Al-Sayyid Hashim Al-Rifai: Minister of Finance
 
The decree will come into effect today, February 1, 2026, and will be published in the Kuwaiti Official Gazette soon.
 
Although the official reason for the changes has not been announced, observers see it as part of the cabinet reshuffle under Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, a process that began in April 2024.
