Limited reopening of Rafah crossing under Israeli supervision
The movement of people through the Rafah crossing, located on the border between the Gaza Strip and Egypt, will resume today (Monday) with restrictions and under strict controls.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): According to Al Jazeera Qatar, the decision to reopen the Rafah crossing was made after the Israeli regime's attacks on Gaza, which resulted in the martyrdom of a number of Palestinians and was condemned by the European Union and Arab and Islamic countries.

A day before the opening of the Rafah crossing, the Israeli army created a new route for checking and controlling travelers from Egypt to Gaza, known as "Rigafim". This route is managed by the Israeli security forces and is in an area under the control of the regime's army. Entering individuals present their identities on approved lists and security checks are carried out. The aim of this route is to strengthen security surveillance in the area.

On the other hand, the Israeli regime announced that the opening of the Rafah crossing is a phased and experimental one, and will be carried out in coordination with the European Union mission, Egypt and other relevant institutions. People who left Gaza during the war can return after coordination with Egypt and security approval from the Israeli regime. The European mission will conduct initial inspections, after which additional measures will be implemented in the axis under the control of the regime's army.

On the other hand, Hazem Qassem, spokesman for the Hamas movement, warned that any Israeli obstruction or conditions regarding the Rafah crossing would violate the ceasefire agreement, and called on mediators and guarantor countries to monitor the Israeli regime's performance.

Transferring the sick and wounded through the Rafah crossing
The opening of the Rafah crossing will allow the transfer of the wounded and sick outside Gaza for treatment.

Adnan Abu Hasna, media advisor for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), told Al Jazeera that the World Health Organization will oversee the transfer of patients through the Rafah crossing for treatment.

He added that the number of patients being evacuated should be significant, as the capacity of health facilities in Gaza is not sufficient to provide services.
