Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The contenders in European football had an exciting night behind them; a night in which Juventus stormed mercilessly, Inter showed unstoppability and Borussia Dortmund kept their hopes alive with breathtaking drama.
In the Italian Serie A, Luciano Spalletti's Juventus put on a completely dominant performance at home to Parma and maintained their distance from the teams at the top of the table with a 4-1 victory. The Bianconeri took control of the game from the very beginning and, after several dangerous chances, scored in the 15th minute when Bremer headed Conceição's corner into the net. Juve's pressure continued and in the 37th minute, Weston McKennie made it two goals with a spectacular volley.
At the start of the second half, Cambiasso's mistake allowed Parma to reduce the deficit with an own goal, but the reaction was short-lived. Just three minutes later, Bremer scored again in the crowded penalty area to give Juventus some peace of mind. In the 64th minute, David Roy fired a free-kick from Conceição's rebound. Juventus even scored another goal, which was ruled out for offside, leaving the game at 4-1.
In another Serie A match, leaders Inter were away at Cremonese and, despite the absence of several key players, they beat their hosts 2-0 with great composure and determination. The Nerazzurri started the game on the offensive, and Lautaro Martinez headed home the opener from a corner kick by Dimarco, his 128th goal in Serie A for Inter.
Piotr Zielinski then doubled the lead with a powerful long-range shot. The match was also marred by a dangerous incident, when a firecracker exploded near the feet of Cremonese goalkeeper Emil Audro, causing a temporary stoppage of play and shock in the stadium. However, Inter held on to the lead until the end, remaining firmly at the top of the table with 55 points.
In the German Bundesliga, Borussia Dortmund had a wild night. The Bees, who needed a win to stay in second place and continue their title bid, came close to a bitter defeat against bottom club Heidenheim. Waldemar Anton's goal at the end of the first half was answered by two goals in quick succession from Julian Niehuis to give the visitors a 2-1 lead.
At that moment, Serge Girassi became the hero of the night. The pressured Dortmund striker first scored an equaliser from the penalty spot in the 68th minute and then scored his second and his team's third just 84 seconds later to turn the game around in a frenetic fashion. Although Girassi missed another penalty in the final minutes, Dortmund managed to win 3-2, extending their unbeaten run to 13 games and closing the gap to the top of the table to six points.
