Roma football team lost 1-0 to Udinese in one of the important matches of the week in the Italian Serie A and, losing three crucial points, failed to rise to fourth place in the table.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): In the framework of this week's Italian Premier League (Serie A), Roma team lost 1-0 in an away match against Udinese to lose the opportunity to rise to the top four teams in the table.

With this victory, Udinese managed to win two consecutive Serie A matches for the first time since September. The only goal of the match was scored on a free kick by Jurgen Ecklenkamp; the kick was deflected after hitting the Roma defenders and entered the goal to give the home team the lead.

Udinese, who had won just once in their last six home games, lost three and drawn two, started the match with high spirits. Arthur Ata threatened Roma with a low shot in the opening minutes that was saved by Osvalar. Then Omar Solle missed a clear chance to score from an ideal position inside the six-yard box after Eklenkamp's initial shot was deflected.

Roma gradually took control of the game in the first half, with Donyell Malen coming close to scoring, but Maduka Okoye's timely reaction prevented Udinese from opening the scoring. Gian Piero Gasperini's men, who had the best away defence in Europe's top five leagues before the weekend, improved as the first half drew to a close; serious scoring opportunities were limited, however, and Mattia Solle's free-kick went just wide of the top of the goal.

The second half began in a dreamlike fashion for the hosts; Where Eklenkamp's long-range free kick, after hitting the defensive wall, deflected off Osvilar and into the corner of the goal.

Udinese, who had only conceded once in eight league games in which they had scored the first goal, tried to control the game. Entering the final half hour, Roma, despite having most of the possession, failed to create dangerous chances and a lack of creativity in the final third was the team's main problem. Malen's shot was also saved by Thomas Thiessen Christensen.

Roma's pressure increased in the final minutes, but it was Udinese who came closest to a second goal, Idrissa Gueye being denied by Osvilar's reaction. Roma scored in the dying moments through Brian Cristante, but the goal was ruled out for offside.

With this result, Udinese, with perfect consistency, earned three valuable points from this match and ended their six-game losing streak against Roma. In contrast, Roma remained in fifth place in the table with 43 points and could not get close to Juventus in fourth place with 45 points.
