Snowfall in Japan kills at least 35
Heavy snowfall in various parts of Japan has killed at least 35 people.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: Japanese media reported that at least 35 people have lost their lives following heavy snowfall in the country.
TBS television channel, citing local authorities, announced that some of the victims were people who fell from rooftops while shoveling snow. A number of elderly people also died due to severe physical strain and fatigue from shoveling snow.
Local authorities have warned of the continuation of dangerous weather conditions and have asked citizens, especially the elderly, to refrain from carrying out heavy activities during the snowfall.
