The security forces in Zavol, Herat, are fully prepared to follow the deadly floods; 13 wounded and one victim so far
Following the heavy rains in the last two days in Herat province, the floods have caused casualties and financial losses in several places. Local officials say 13 people have been killed and 13 wounded, while security forces in Zawal district are on full alert to contain further dangers, and rescue operations continue in the Turghandi River.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Herat: Following the rains of the past two days in Herat province, floods in several parts of the province have caused emergency incidents, as a result of which 13 people have been injured and another has died. Officials of the Herat local administration say the events have been recorded in various sections, and with the joint efforts of the operational teams and the cooperation of the local people, many cases have been contained, but some incidents continue to be investigated. Mohammad Yousef Saeedi, spokesman for the governor of Herat, told AVA that a tiller-type truck had been stopped on the Herat-Kandahar highway due to the flood, but the problem was solved by the timely action of the forces. According to him, a 580 passenger car on the Herat-Farah route was also overturned as a result of the flood, as a result of which 13 occupants were superficially injured and all of them were treated immediately. The governor's spokesman added that three people were trapped in the flood waters in Adraskan district, and two people were rescued and another was lost due to the efforts of local people and operational teams. Also in the Turghandi River, two other people are trapped in the flood, for which the rescue operation continues.
