Suicide attack in Pakistan
Pakistani news sources report a suicide car bomb attack in the Beno district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the northwestern province of Pakhtunkhwa. The attack, which took place last night (Thursday), has left 5 dead and 13 injured.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: According to the police, a suicide bomber was trying to take his explosives to the "Dumil" police station in Benu. "Apparently, the suicide bomber intended to target the police station, but in a hurry, he hit a civilian house before reaching the target," Mohammad Sajjad Khan, a senior local police official, told AFP. According to Yasser Afridi, the head of the police, the attack failed due to the timely action of the security forces and the vigilance of the police. Police in riot gear stormed a rally on Friday, removing hundreds of protesters by truck. Local officials have confirmed that all five of those killed were civilians. According to the local hospital, the victims include a two-year-old child, a 17-year-old girl, two other women and a man. Among the injured are children aged 7 and 9, several women and a police officer. The total number of injured in this incident is 13 people.
