American media say two US helicopters were damaged during the rescue operation for downed fighter pilots.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: NBC News reported, citing an American official, that two US helicopters involved in the search and rescue operation for US F-15 fighter pilots were targeted by Iranian fire.

The report also claimed that their crews are safe.

It had previously been reported that a US helicopter was targeted by Iranian defense fire and damaged during the rescue operation for a US military F-15 fighter jet that was shot down in Iran.
