Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: According to security sources, the clash in Tanee district of Khost province along the imaginary Durand Line began around 8 pm last night.
Abdul Haq Fida, spokesman for the 203rd Mansouri Army Corps, said that following the clash, a Pakistani military post was destroyed and Pakistani forces suffered heavy casualties. He added that the body of a Pakistani soldier was also brought by Afghan forces.
Meanwhile, security officials in Kunar province have announced that a mosque was targeted and a civilian was injured in artillery attacks by Pakistani militants in Dangam district. It is said that Dangam High School was previously damaged in similar attacks.
These movements occurred while tensions in the border areas between the country and the Pakistani military regime have increased in recent months.
According to new reports from various sources, the clash last night in the Tany district of Khost began after the Pakistani side shelled the border areas and the country's forces responded.
Local officials have claimed that a Pakistani border post was captured or destroyed and heavy casualties (about 6 dead and 13 wounded or more) were inflicted on the other side.
In Kunar province, there are also reports of heavy shelling in various areas of Dangam, Sarkanu and Nari districts, which led to the destruction of a mosque and the injury of civilians. These incidents are part of the ongoing border tensions that have displaced hundreds of families in recent weeks and reports of reciprocal attacks have been published. Pakistani authorities have not yet officially responded to these claims.
