Kabul-Bishkek Emphasis on Strengthening Political, Trade and Transit Cooperation
In continuation of efforts to strengthen regional interactions, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan, in a meeting with the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, emphasized the promotion of bilateral relations and the development of all-round cooperation between Kabul and Bishkek.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Ghairat Tursungulov, Deputy Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan, met and held talks with Maulvi Amir Khan Muttaqi, Foreign Minister of Afghanistan.

According to the Ministry, the meeting was held on the sidelines of the first session of the Afghanistan-Central Asia Consultative Dialogue, in which the two sides exchanged views on enhancing the level of diplomatic relations, strengthening trade and transit cooperation, and reviewing the situation in the region.

According to the ministry's statement, Maulvi Amir Khan Mottaqi, while appreciating the presence of the high-ranking Kyrgyz delegation at the aforementioned meeting, emphasized that based on the views and suggestions raised in the consultative talks, work should be carried out jointly on developing a roadmap for future cooperation.

He added that Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan have historical relations and many commonalities and can exploit the existing opportunities to further expand bilateral relations.

On the other hand, Ghairat Tursungulov, welcoming this regional initiative, considered it an important step towards strengthening regional cooperation and stated that the friendship between the peoples of the two countries has always been stable.

He also emphasized the continuation and strengthening of political, trade, transit and even sports cooperation between Kabul and Bishkek, referring to his country's support for the Islamic Emirate.

It is worth noting that such meetings are considered of particular importance within the framework of Afghanistan's efforts to expand relations with Central Asian countries and increase the country's regional role.
