Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Mullah Hamdullah Fitrat, deputy spokesman for the Islamic Emirate, announced a joint economic meeting between the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan with the aim of strengthening trade and economic cooperation, in the center of Kabul and with the presence of health officials, Emirati officials and businessmen of the two countries.
According to him, in this meeting, the two sides emphasized the expansion of economic relations, the creation of facilities in the bilateral trade sector and the development of cooperation in the pharmaceutical industry.
The statement of the Deputy Spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate stated that the participants considered this cooperation an important step towards self-sufficiency, improvement of health services and economic growth of Afghanistan.
According to the statement, Maulvi Hamdullah Zahid, Deputy Minister of Food and Medicines of the Ministry of Public Health, described this meeting as an important opportunity to develop joint cooperation and emphasized the commitment of the Islamic Emirate to support investment and create facilities for businessmen.
The statement added that in the continuation of this meeting, Abdullah Azizov, Head of the Department for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry of Uzbekistan, announced his country's readiness to expand comprehensive cooperation with Afghanistan, especially in the pharmaceutical production sector.
It is said that during this meeting, businessmen from the pharmaceutical sectors of the two countries signed 13 trade contracts worth more than 25 million US dollars; a move that is evaluated as an important step towards strengthening economic cooperation between Kabul and Tashkent.
