Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: The American think tank, the Atlantic Council, acknowledged this morning (Tuesday) that any inhumane and criminal attack by the United States on Iran's energy infrastructure will have no effect on the military power of the Islamic Republic.
The Atlantic Council explained in a report: "US threats to target Iran's power grid, refineries, and desalination plants would have devastating consequences for civilians, while offering little military advantage (to the US)."
According to Sputnik, the report states: “An attack on Iran’s water infrastructure would immediately create a crisis of disease, hunger, and thirst among the Iranian civilian population.”
The Atlantic Council, however, warned that targeting Iranian infrastructure risks destabilizing the entire region, as Gulf states that rely heavily on desalination could face severe water shortages within days.
The report states: “Instead of weakening Iran militarily, such actions could deepen distrust of the United States and escalate regional conflict.”
The think tank’s analysts also warned: “Destroying Iran’s energy and water infrastructure is likely to only prolong and intensify the conflict.”
The Islamic Republic of Iran has explicitly warned that if Iran's power plants are attacked, it will not only completely close the Strait of Hormuz, but will also destroy not only the power plants of the Zionist regime, but will also consider the power plants of all countries hosting US bases in the region as legitimate targets.
