Iran’s attacks will stop as a result of the cessation of enemy attacks and two weeks of safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz/ Pakistan invites the US and Iran to talks in Islamabad
Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, on behalf of the country’s Supreme National Security Council, thanked Pakistan for its efforts and announced two main conditions: first, “If the attacks on the Islamic Republic of Iran stop, our armed forces will also stop their defensive attacks”; second, “Safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz will be possible for two weeks in coordination with the Iranian armed forces and taking into account existing technical limitations.” Meanwhile, Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, while welcoming this wise move, officially invited the Iranian and US delegations to meet in Islamabad on Friday, April 10, 2026, and begin negotiations to reach a final agreement to resolve all differences.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Tehran: Following the announcement of a two-week ceasefire agreement between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States and the statement of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, on behalf of the council, issued an official and multi-part message on his personal page on the X social network.
At the beginning of his message, Araghchi wrote: "I thank and appreciate my dear brother, Mr. Shahbaz Sharif, the honorable Prime Minister of Pakistan, and Mr. Field Marshal Asim Munir, the honorable Commander of the Pakistani Army, for their tireless efforts to end the war in the region."

Two key conditions of Iran from the Supreme National Security Council
In response to the brotherly request of the Pakistani Prime Minister and referring to the US request for negotiations based on that country's 15-point proposals, as well as the US President's announcement that he accepted the generality of Iran's 10-point proposals as the basis for negotiations, the Iranian Foreign Minister announced the following two points on behalf of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran:
1. Conditional cessation of attacks: “If the attacks on the Islamic Republic of Iran cease, our powerful armed forces will also cease their defensive attacks.”
2. Safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz: “For two weeks, safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz will be possible in coordination with the Iranian armed forces and taking into account existing technical limitations.”

Pakistani Prime Minister’s invitation for “Islamabad talks”
Meanwhile, in a separate statement, Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif welcomed this wise move and officially invited the Iranian and American delegations. The text of the Pakistani Prime Minister’s invitation is as follows:
“I sincerely welcome this wise move by the leaders of the two countries and invite their delegations to meet in Islamabad on Friday, April 10, 2026, and begin negotiations to reach a final agreement to resolve all differences.”

Shahbaz Sharif added: "Both sides have demonstrated a constructive approach to advancing peace and stability with remarkable tact and mutual understanding. We sincerely hope that the 'Islamabad Talks' will lead to the realization of a lasting peace and that we will share more good news with you in the coming days." He noted that the ceasefire will be implemented from 3:30 AM on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, Iranian time, and 8:00 PM on Tuesday, April 7, Eastern time.
