Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: A regular meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Investment Committee was held in Qasr Marmarin. In this meeting, plans to build a commercial market in the first district of Kabul city, establish a modern plant to generate electricity through incineration and processing of waste in Kabul city, and also a plan to assemble and gradually produce tractors and agricultural machinery in Kandahar, Herat, and Balkh provinces were presented for discussion and review.
After discussing the details of these projects, the committee members referred them to the relevant departments for technical and economic evaluations.
The responsible institutions were also advised to submit their comprehensive reports to the Inter-Ministerial Investment Committee within a specified time.
The review of these projects reflects the government’s focus on developing economic infrastructure, better managing urban waste, and strengthening the country’s agricultural sector. Establishing a waste-to-energy plant could be an important step towards solving environmental challenges and energy shortages in Kabul, while setting up agricultural machinery assembly lines in the provinces would help improve agricultural production and create job opportunities.
