Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Mohammad Ishaq Dar said today (Sunday) in response to the inconclusive end of the Iran-US talks in Islamabad following the excessive demands of the American negotiating team, "Islamabad will continue the necessary efforts to reach an agreement between the American and Iranian sides."
He pointed out that several rounds of negotiations were held between the Iranian and American negotiating teams and said that "the negotiations ended this morning."
Ishaq Dar continued to call for the maintenance of the ceasefire between Iran and the US, saying, "We hope that both the American and Iranian sides will continue to adhere to the ceasefire."
“The bad news is that we have not reached an agreement. So, we are returning to the United States without an agreement,” US Vice President JD Vance said in a press conference hours before leaving Pakistan for the United States.
He continued, without referring to the US’s excessive demands, “They preferred not to accept our conditions. The Iranian delegation has not presented anything strong that confirms that Iran is not seeking to acquire nuclear weapons.
A source close to the negotiating team told a Fars correspondent in Pakistan: The American team was looking for an excuse to leave the negotiating table.
