Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Following President Donald Trump's threats to blockade Iran, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) claimed in a statement that, in accordance with the President's order, they will begin implementing a blockade of all maritime traffic entering and leaving Iranian ports starting on April 13 at 10 a.m. Eastern Time (ET).
The statement claimed that this blockade will be applied impartially against vessels of all countries entering or leaving Iranian ports and coastal areas, including all Iranian ports in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman. CENTCOM forces will not impede freedom of navigation for vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz to or from non-Iranian ports.
Donald Trump, whose plans to reopen the Strait of Hormuz have failed, announced his new plan for a naval blockade of Iran on Sunday.
