The broad support of the Afghan people for Iran in the Forty-Day War is a symbol of the deep religious and cultural ties between the two nations
Dr. Fazal-ul-Hadi Wazin, head of the Afghan Understanding and Reform Movement, emphasized in an interview with Ava reporter after the establishment of a two-week ceasefire between Iran and the United States at the suggestion of the United States in Pakistan and the start of peace talks that the broad support of the Afghan people for the Islamic Republic of Iran during the Forty-Day War indicates the deep religious, historical and cultural ties between the two nations and that this public capital should be transformed into a new stage in the relations between the two countries.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Dr. Fazal-ul-Hadi Wazin, a senior researcher and analyst of political affairs, considered the positive stances of the Afghan people in the Forty-Day War launched by the United States and Israel against Iran to be based on deep religious, historical and cultural ties and stated that now this valuable public capital should be transformed into a new stage in the relations between the two countries.

In an interview with Ava, he said: “During the difficult days of the forty-day war launched by the United States and Israel against Iran, a great truth became clear, and that is that the Afghan nation with all its strata—including scholars and academics, political and social figures, and the masses of people from all ethnicities, religions, and regions—stood by the Iranian nation with sincerity and honesty.”

According to him, this solidarity was not merely a political stance, but rather a reflection of the deep religious, historical, and cultural ties between the two nations.

Mr. Vazin added: “Afghanistan and Iran, as two neighboring and brotherly countries, can begin a new chapter of cooperation by relying on their many commonalities; a chapter that is based on constructive interaction, shared interests, avoidance of negative policies, past mistakes and accumulations, and mutual respect.”

He also emphasized that at this stage, focusing on scientific and technological cooperation is a strategic necessity, adding: “Creating joint programs between universities, supporting innovation, transferring knowledge, and utilizing the capacities of the youth of the two countries can pave the way for sustainable progress.”

The political and religious affairs analyst noted that, in addition to these, facilitating movement, travel, and trade within legal and transparent frameworks can strengthen economic and human ties and contribute to balanced growth.

He added: “There are undoubtedly some challenges and considerations between the two countries, but the way to overcome them is through dialogue, mutual understanding, and a focus on the future, not by dwelling on the past.”

Dr. Wazin emphasized that today is a historic opportunity to elevate Afghanistan-Iran relations from the level of empathy to the level of a strategic partnership based on science, economics, and legal cooperation; an opportunity that, if managed properly, will lead to the good of both nations and regional stability.

He concluded by stating that opening a new chapter in relations between the two countries, creating new opportunities, and making optimal use of existing capacities to strengthen and develop relations between Afghanistan and Iran is the shared responsibility of the nations and leaders of the two countries.
