Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Following the failure of Mossad operations against Iran, especially the plan designed with the cooperation of the United States for overthrow in the early days of the war, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu dismissed Mossad Chief David Barnia and appointed Roman Gaffin as his replacement.
This change at the head of Mossad came after a series of intelligence and operational failures of the organization against Iran, especially in the field of overthrow plans.
According to reports, David Barnia had presented a plan to Netanyahu in collaboration with Donald Trump, the then US President, before the start of the recent war. The plan claimed that Mossad could incite the opposition to revolt in the early days of the war by creating chaos and riots in the streets of Iran. Despite serious doubts in the intelligence agencies of the United States and the Israeli regime, Trump and Netanyahu accepted the plan.
The plan was based on the false assumption and naive imagination that the assassination of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution on the first day of the war, along with subsequent intelligence operations, could lead to a widespread popular uprising. However, not only did this prediction not come true weeks after the start of the fighting, but the general public of Iran in different parts of the country, by taking to the squares and streets every night, declare their firm support for the Islamic regime.
The appointment of Roman Gaffen as the new head indicates the Israeli regime’s attempt to review its approaches and strategies towards Iran.
