Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)-Herat: Shahrat Rahmanov, the governor of Andijan Province of the Republic of Uzbekistan, at the head of a large business delegation consisting of the ambassador of this country in Kabul, the head of the Chamber of Commerce of Uzbekistan and 60 businessmen, traveled to Herat and met and talked with Sheikh Islamjar, the governor of Herat.
In the meeting that was held with the presence of government officials, businessmen and industrialists, the parties discussed and exchanged opinions on the expansion of trade and transit relations, the development of highways and railways between Herat and Uzbekistan, the establishment of a permanent exhibition of Uzbekistan products in Herat, and the establishment of the Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce in this province.
In this meeting, the governor of Herat called Herat one of the most important economic and transit centers of the country and emphasized the development of economic relations with the countries of the region, especially Uzbekistan. He also wanted to increase the import of food, oil, cement and other construction materials from Uzbekistan, and on the other hand, he emphasized the export of marble and other Afghan products to this country.
Sheikh Islamjar also announced the readiness of the local administration to provide the necessary facilities to Uzbek investors and emphasized on the start of joint investments between the businessmen of the two countries.
On the other hand, the governor of Andijan also called Herat an important commercial gateway of Afghanistan to Central Asia and emphasized on the development of bilateral cooperation in the fields of trade, transit and investment. He announced the readiness of Uzbek businessmen to invest in Herat and considered it necessary to increase the level of export and import between the two countries.
At the end of this meeting, the two sides agreed that a delegation of Herat businessmen will soon travel to Andijan and by holding a joint exhibition, they will provide the basis for the expansion of business interactions between the two countries.
Also, in the near future, the Afghanistan-Uzbekistan joint chamber of commerce will be officially established in Herat; An action that can open a new chapter in the economic relations of the two countries.
