Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi and Saudi Ambassador to Kabul Faisal bin Taluq al-Baqmi met in Urumqi to discuss regional developments and recent talks between Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Afghanistan's Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Muttaqi clarified the recent talks with the Pakistani side in Urumqi and expressed hope that interpretive differences and some minor technical issues would not hinder the progress of the talks.
Muttaqi said the relations between Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia were positive and expressed hope that the relations between the two brotherly countries would expand further in the political, security and economic fields.
The Saudi ambassador also said that for his country, political and security stability and economic development in Afghanistan are of great importance and Riyadh supports Afghanistan in these areas.
Muttaqi said the relations between Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia were positive and expressed hope that the relations between the two brotherly countries would expand further in the political, security and economic fields.
