Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Earlier, informed sources in Pakistan announced that a high-ranking political-security delegation from Pakistan, consisting of important Pakistani figures, left Islamabad for Tehran a few minutes ago.
According to the Iranian State Radio and Television Agency, this high-ranking delegation is carrying Washington's new message for Tehran and is scheduled to discuss the issue of upcoming talks in a meeting with Iranian officials.
Informed sources and media in Pakistan claimed that this delegation is scheduled to discuss issues related to the second round of talks, which is scheduled to be hosted by Islamabad in the coming days, with Iranian officials.
An hour before the Pakistani army commander's arrival in Tehran, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghaei said in response to a question about the publication of news about a high-ranking delegation's visit to Iran: "Regarding the talks and negotiations, the exchange of messages is continuing. Since Sunday, when the delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran returned to Tehran until today, numerous messages have been exchanged through Pakistani intermediaries. Our positions are very clear; they were expressed both there and during these exchanges." He added: "Today, we are hosting a delegation from Pakistan. In continuation of the talks that took place in Islamabad and the discussions that the Pakistani side had with the United States, our words have been conveyed and heard. As a rule, during this visit, the views of the two sides are likely to be discussed in detail." These statements come at a time when speculations about holding a second round of talks between Tehran and Washington in Islamabad have increased. It is said that at the same time, Pakistani sources, citing Western media, have claimed that there is a possibility of these talks being held in Islamabad in the coming days.
