Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): In response to the question, "What does this view have to do with the concept of modern civilization?", Dr. Hosseini clarified: "The vision of the Martyr Imam cannot be understood without considering a civilizational horizon. The idea of a new Islamic civilization means that the current developments will not remain solely at the political or military level, but will lead to the formation of a new model of life, governance, and social interaction.”
He added: This civilization is supposed to be formed on the basis of values such as justice, spirituality, rationality, and human dignity and provide a response to the deep crises of the contemporary world. According to Hosseini, the martyred leader always emphasized that the Islamic Revolution is the prelude to building a new civilization.
Why is the need for a new civilization emphasized more than ever today?
Referring to the repeated statements of the martyred leader of the Islamic Revolution about the crises of today’s world, including moral and identity crises, widespread inequalities, and political instability, Iran’s cultural advisor in Afghanistan stated: “Many existing models have been ineffective in responding to these challenges. In such circumstances, designing a new model that can create a balance between material progress and spiritual excellence has become a necessity. The vision of the martyred leader was focused precisely on this void.”
Prerequisites for the realization of a new civilization from the perspective of the martyred leader
Dr. Hosseini considered the realization of this goal to require a multidimensional movement and listed four basic axes emphasized by the martyred leader Imam Khamenei (RA):
1. In the intellectual dimension: strengthening discourse and producing indigenous theories based on pure Islam
2. In the cultural dimension: redefining and strengthening the common revolutionary identity and values
3. In the social dimension: popular participation and especially the active presence of the young generation
4. In the institutional dimension: creating efficient structures to transform ideas into objective reality
He emphasized: “From the perspective of the martyred leader, the new Islamic civilization is not just a slogan, but a long-term project that requires careful planning, revolutionary patience, and the jihad of explanation.”
The pivotal role of youth and elites in the leadership’s thinking
In response to a question about the role of youth and elites in this path, Iran’s cultural advisor, referring to the Martyr Leader’s repeated statements about the “Soleimani generation,” said: “Youth and elites are the driving force behind this transformation. The Martyr Leader’s vision for the future will come to fruition when it becomes the dominant discourse among new generations.”
He added: Elites can clarify the path by generating ideas and presenting practical solutions, and youth can advance it with their energy, creativity, and motivation. Hosseini noted: “From the perspective of the Martyr Leader, without the active presence of these two groups, the realization of a new civilization will face a serious challenge.”
From Defensive Resistance to Civilizational Future-Building
In concluding the discussion, Dr. Hosseini noted: “The vision of the martyred leader Ayatollah Khamenei (RA) is an invitation to move beyond short-term views and move towards long civilizational horizons. This view attempts to transform resistance from a defensive position to a constructive and future-building path.”
He expressed hope that if this approach, which is the precious legacy of the martyred leader of the Islamic Revolution, is properly understood and followed, it can pave the way for the formation of a new and inspiring order at the regional and global levels; an order in which human and spiritual values have a central place and the Islamic Republic of Iran plays a role as the mother of a new Islamic civilization.
