Expansion of agricultural cooperation between Kabul and Tashkent; From laboratory to horticultural development
The Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock met with the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan and stressed the development of joint cooperation in the fields of agriculture, livestock and transfer of new technologies.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVNA) - Kabul: Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock Maulvi Ataullah Omari met with Uzbek Deputy Minister of Agriculture Abdullah Jamshid and his delegation in Kabul, the ministry said in a statement.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed expanding joint cooperation in the fields of agriculture, livestock and horticulture, training agriculture and veterinary students, as well as attracting investment in these sectors.

The deputy minister of agriculture of Uzbekistan said at the meeting that Tashkent is ready to cooperate with Afghanistan in various agricultural sectors. According to him, the country's proposed programs include the establishment of agricultural laboratories, the construction of 100 hectares of orchards, the promotion and distribution of improved seeds, the development of poultry farming and the transfer of new agricultural technologies.

He added that Uzbeks are interested in using Afghan agricultural products because of their good quality and taste; This could also lead to an increase in Afghanistan's agricultural exports.

Afghanistan and Uzbekistan have been trying to expand economic and trade cooperation in recent years, especially in the agricultural sector. These cooperation included exchange of experiences, joint investment and facilitation of export of agricultural products.
