Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The Ministry of Information and Culture says that Sheikh Ahmadullah Haqqani, Minister of the Ministry, along with Mohajer Farahi, Deputy Minister for Publications, visited the Department of Information and Culture, Museum, Public Library, New Theater Building, Qala Ikhtiardin, Darul Funun Hariwa, and the TAPI project during his visit to Herat province.
According to the ministry, during these visits, he emphasized the importance of preserving the country's historical monuments and said that cultural heritages constitute an important part of the national identity and that efforts to protect, restore and introduce them to future generations are a fundamental responsibility.
The ministry's statement said that he appreciated the work done by the officials of cultural institutions and emphasized improving activities, expanding cultural programs and providing better services to citizens.
According to him, the development of cultural and educational centers can play an important role in increasing the awareness of young people and strengthening their connection with the history and culture of the country.
In part of his speech, Mr. Haqqani, referring to the TAPI project in Herat, stated that the implementation of major national and regional projects, including TAPI, will strengthen economic stability, create job opportunities and increase the level of trust between regional countries.
According to the ministry's report, officials from various departments, including the Information and Culture Department, Museum, Library, Theater, Qala Ikhtiardin, Darul Funun Hariwa, and the TAPI project, welcomed the visit and assured the people of the continuation of efforts to improve cultural, artistic, informational, and economic services.
It is worth noting that during this visit, the Minister of Information and Culture also participated in the funeral ceremony of a number of residents who died in an attack by unknown gunmen in Deh Mehri village, Injil district, Herat province, and expressed sympathy with the families of the victims.
