Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): While diplomatic contacts are underway in Lebanon to maintain and extend a ten-day ceasefire with Israel to provide an opportunity to negotiate and address the issue of Hezbollah's weapons, there are concerns that the ceasefire will break down due to the Israeli army's continued violations.
Recording of repeated ceasefire violations
Since the beginning of the current temporary ceasefire in Lebanon, the occupying army has carried out numerous violations, including: reconnaissance flights, explosions and destruction of houses in border villages such as Al-Qantara, Deir Siryan, Mays Al-Jabal, Bint Jbeil, Al-Bayada, Al-Naqurah, Marbakah, Tayyiba and Khayyam, or targeting a motorcycle in Quneen and killing its occupant.
Last night, Lebanese media reported that the occupying army, in continuing to violate the ceasefire agreement, is blowing up houses, villages and towns in an area it calls the “security buffer zone.”
It has also been reported that “Israeli” drones were flying low in the skies of villages in the Nabatiyeh region in southern Lebanon last night, and this violation of the ceasefire agreement continues.
The Lebanese Al-Ahed news website also reported on Monday in a report titled “Airstrikes and Bombing of Houses in the South; The enemy continued to violate the ceasefire for the fourth day,” he wrote: “The Zionist enemy continues to violate the temporary ceasefire by bombing houses in various areas, and this is now the fourth day that this ceasefire violation continues.”
According to the same report, Israeli warplanes attacked the city of Al-Tayri in the Bint Jbeil region, and enemy drones targeted a house in the city of Burj Qalawiyah at dawn on Monday.
According to the report, “From last night until dawn today, the Israeli army bombed a number of residential buildings in the cities of Shamaa, Naqoura and Al-Bayyad in the Tyre region. The occupiers also carried out a major bombing operation in the city of Beit Yahoun in southern Lebanon.”
Israeli Defense Minister: We will use all our might in Lebanon
The Israeli Defense Minister threatened yesterday that Tel Aviv would use “all its might” in Lebanon if its soldiers were threatened, despite the ceasefire with Hezbollah.
He reiterated that he would demolish homes he claimed Hezbollah was using in border villages.
“I and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have ordered the army to use all its power, both on the ground and in the air, even during the ceasefire, to protect our soldiers in Lebanon from any threat,” Katz said at a ceremony in a settlement in the occupied West Bank.
Hezbollah’s position
A parliamentary source in Hezbollah stressed that the group does not accept a return to the situation before March 2 (15 months ago). Hezbollah demands a complete halt to Israeli attacks (air, sea, land), the withdrawal of Israel from the occupied territories, the release of prisoners, and the start of reconstruction.
The source also emphasized that Hezbollah rejects the US memorandum of understanding and the Lebanese government’s concessions, and believes that the Lebanese government should first expel the occupier rather than give up its rights.
Breaking off contact with the president
According to Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed, Hezbollah's contact with President Joseph Aoun is currently broken. Hezbollah emphasizes its opposition to direct negotiations, but has expressed its readiness to discuss the issue of weapons within a specific strategic framework and within Lebanon.
