Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The Directorate of the General Directorate of the Administration says that the press delegation of this department, led by Maulvi Aminullah Jilani, the deputy director of the department’s press office, met and talked with a number of private media journalists and the head of the Northern Zone Journalists’ Committee during its trip to Balkh province.
According to the department, the meeting was held on Monday in the city of Mazar-e-Sharif and discussed and exchanged views on how to effectively inform about decrees No. 17 and 20 of the Leader of the Islamic Emirate.
In this meeting, he emphasized the importance of raising public awareness and said that some incorrect traditions have imposed heavy costs on families and there is a need to prevent the continuation of such traditions through targeted awareness programs.
He added that launching extensive information programs at the level of Balkh province can play an important role in changing social attitudes and reducing undesirable customs and traditions.
On the other hand, journalists and media activists in the northern zone, while welcoming this initiative, highlighted the role of the media in creating culture and reforming public views and emphasized comprehensive cooperation in promoting the concepts of the aforementioned decrees.
