Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): After facing the Islamic Republic of Iran’s firm stance in defending its interests and people against his bullying, US President Donald Trump once again resorted to threats to bring Tehran to the negotiating table.
This morning (Tuesday), Trump claimed in an interview with the John Fredericks radio program that if Iran does not come to the negotiating table, problems will arise for it.
He explained his claim: “They (Iran) will negotiate. If they don't, they will face problems they have never seen before."
"I hope they reach a fair agreement and rebuild their country, but when they do, they will not have nuclear weapons. We cannot allow this to happen," Trump wrote, according to the TASS news agency.
This comes hours after Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf said: "Trump wants to turn the negotiating table into a surrender table by imposing a blockade and violating the ceasefire; we will not accept negotiations under the shadow of threats. We are prepared to show new cards on the battlefield."
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei also said at a weekly press conference on Monday that no plans or decisions have been made to hold the next round of negotiations. He called America's contradictory behavior and violation of the ceasefire a sign of Washington's lack of seriousness on the diplomatic path.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman went on to say that his country is not bound by any external deadlines and views past military actions within the framework of legitimate defense. He stressed that the Iranian armed forces will respond forcefully to any new action.
