Pakistani source claims: Tehran-Washington talks to be held on Wednesday
A Pakistani source told Reuters that the coordination process for the start of Iran-US talks has accelerated and the possibility of holding these talks on Wednesday has increased.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Reuters reported today, citing a Pakistani source who played a role in the previous round of talks between Iran and the US, that there is an acceleration for the start of the second round of US-Iran talks on Wednesday.

The anonymous source gave a positive assessment and said, "The situation is moving forward and the talks are on track for tomorrow (going according to plan)."

The source also said that if an agreement is to be signed, US President Donald Trump may participate in person or virtually.

While the US, while maintaining the language of force and threats, is pushing for another round of talks, Iran has not yet announced its readiness to participate.

American sources say that US Vice President JD Vance will leave for Islamabad today to hold a new round of talks with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

This comes hours after Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, the speaker of the Iranian parliament who led the Iranian delegation in the first round of talks in Islamabad, announced that “Trump wants to turn the negotiating table into a surrender table by imposing a siege and violating the ceasefire; we will not accept negotiations under the shadow of threats. We are prepared to show new cards on the battlefield.”

Also, Esmail Baghaei, spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, said in a weekly press conference on Monday that no plans or decisions have been made to hold the next round of talks so far. He called the US’s contradictory behavior and the violation of the ceasefire a sign of Washington’s lack of seriousness on the diplomatic path.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman went on to say that his country is not bound by any foreign deadlines and evaluates past military actions within the framework of legitimate defense. He stressed that the Iranian armed forces will respond forcefully to any new action.
