Lavrov: US and Israeli aggression against Iran has had far-reaching consequences in the Caspian region
The Russian Foreign Minister warned that the arbitrary aggression of the US and the Israeli regime against Iran has not only threatened the stability of the region, but has also had significant negative consequences for the Caspian Sea.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: Sergey Lavrov, today (Thursday), emphasized in a joint press conference with his Kazakh counterpart that the "unprovoked and arbitrary" military operations of the US and Israel against Iran have had severe negative effects on the Caspian Sea.

Lavrov, who hosted Kazakh Foreign Minister Yermak Kosharybayev in Moscow, said in a joint press conference, referring to the regional consequences of the war against Iran: "We are forced to admit that the armed aggression without pretext by the US and Israel against Iran has had the most negative impact on the Caspian Sea."

According to media reports, the Russian Foreign Minister made these remarks at a time when, since the joint US-Israeli military aggression against Iran on February 28, the Caspian region, as one of the most important geostrategic areas neighboring Iran, has been affected by security tensions, disruption of trade routes, and environmental concerns resulting from the attacks.

Lavrov had previously warned about the consequences of this war on the eve of the Caspian littoral states summit and called for a collective response from the five countries bordering the sea.

Russia, along with Iran, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and the Republic of Azerbaijan, are the five littoral states of the Caspian Sea, and the Convention on the Legal Regime of the Sea prohibits any presence or military operations by extra-regional powers.
