Trump
While Donald Trump had claimed to destroy Iran's defense infrastructure in his election and media speeches, last night in an official letter to the US Congress, with a clear change in tone, he emphasized the "significance of Iran's military threats." The letter, which was sent with the aim of circumventing the 60-day legal deadline of the "War Powers Act", indicates Washington's strategic impasse against the Islamic Republic of Iran's defensive will and regional influence.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): US President Donald Trump has repeatedly claimed in his public statements that he has completely destroyed Iran's military power; however, in the letter he sent to Congress last night, he adopted a completely different position.

In a letter to US lawmakers, Trump wrote that “the threat posed by Iran to the United States and our armed forces remains significant.”

Breitbart News, a conservative media outlet, has published excerpts of Trump’s letter to Congress.

He writes: “On March 2, 2026, I reported to Congress that on February 28, 2026, United States forces launched Operation Epic Fury and carried out precision strikes against the regime of the Islamic Republic of Iran. I ordered that operation in accordance with my responsibility to protect Americans and United States interests at home and abroad and in the national security and foreign policy interests of the United States.”

Another part of the letter states: “Despite the success of the United States’ operations against the Iranian regime and the continued efforts to ensure a lasting peace, the threat posed by Iran to the United States and our armed forces remains significant. Accordingly, the Department of Defense will continue to update its force posture in the designated countries in the area of responsibility as necessary and appropriate to counter threats from Iran and Iranian proxies and to protect the United States and its allies and partners.”

Many analysts believe that Trump’s bold and unrealistic claims about destroying all of Iran’s military capabilities during the current war are due to the pressures he has faced in this war.

Reports indicate that Donald Trump launched the war against Iran based on analyses by the Mossad spy agency, which claimed that the government in Tehran would quickly collapse after the assassination of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran.

The New York Times and some other US media outlets have reported that the Trump administration underestimated Iran’s ability and willingness to close the Strait of Hormuz and also to fire missiles and drones at US bases in the region.

Trump has been under intense pressure in the more than two months since the war began due to the failure to achieve his goals, the increase in fuel prices, the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, the failure to find a way to exit honorably, and the strengthening of the foundations of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

For this reason, he has attacked critics of the war in a harsh tone and, on the other hand, has tried to distort the realities of the war with unrealistic statements.

In a statement to his supporters this morning (Saturday), Trump said that those who say that America did not win the war against Iran are “traitors.”
