Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Hours after Trump claimed to have launched an operation to allow commercial ships to pass through the Strait of Hormuz with humanitarian claims, Ebrahim Azizi, head of the National Security Commission of the Iranian Parliament, warned the US against any escort of ships.
Azizi wrote in a post on the social network X that any US intervention in the new maritime regime in the Strait of Hormuz will be considered a violation of the ceasefire.
He added that no one will believe the "Blame Game" scenarios! "The Strait of Hormuz will not be managed with Trump's delusional posts!"
Hours ago, the US President claimed in a vague post that the US would begin an operation to remove commercial ships stuck in the Persian Gulf on Monday.
Then, in a statement in response to Trump’s plan for commercial ships to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that starting Monday, we will begin supporting “Project Freedom” to restore freedom of navigation for commercial ships through the Strait of Hormuz.
The statement said that, at the direction of the President, our forces will act to support commercial ships seeking to pass freely (through the region).
The CENTCOM command claimed that our support for this defense mission is vital and essential for regional security and the global economy.
The statement said that last week, the US Department of State announced a new initiative in partnership with the Department of War (Defense) to strengthen coordination and information exchange among international partners in supporting maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz. The Freedom of the Seas structure is designed to combine diplomatic action with military coordination, which will play a vital role during the implementation of Project Freedom.
CENTCOM claims that US military support for Project Freedom will include guided-missile destroyers, more than 100 land- and sea-based aircraft, multi-role unmanned platforms (drones and guided-vessels), and 15,000 troops.
