Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced in a statement in response to Trump's plan for commercial shipping to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, that we will begin supporting "Project Freedom" to restore freedom of navigation for commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz from Monday.
The statement said that our forces will act at the direction of the President to support commercial ships seeking to pass freely (through the region).
The CENTCOM command claimed that our support for this defense mission is vital and essential for regional security and the global economy. The statement said that last week, the US Department of State announced a new initiative in partnership with the Department of Defense to strengthen coordination and information sharing among international partners in supporting maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz. The “Freedom of the Seas” structure is designed to combine diplomatic action with military coordination, which will play a critical role during the implementation of “Project Freedom.”
CENTCOM claimed that US military support for Project Freedom will include guided missile destroyers, more than 100 land-based and sea-based aircraft, multi-role unmanned platforms (drones and guided vehicles), and 15,000 military personnel.
In statements last night, the US president claimed that starting Monday morning, an operation he claimed was humanitarian for the passage of ships not related to tensions in the Middle East would begin.
Trump claimed that, for the good of Iran, the Middle East, and the United States, we have told these countries that we will safely guide their ships out of these restricted waterways so that they can continue their business freely and with capability.
