Axios confirms Reuters claim that Iran-US deal is close
While Axios claimed that Iran and the United States are close to signing a one-page memorandum of understanding to end the war; Reuters also confirmed this claim.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Reuters wrote, citing a Pakistani source: "We confirm that the United States and Iran are close to agreeing to a one-page memorandum of understanding to end the war."

The agency did not mention the details of the memorandum of understanding.

An hour ago, the Axios news website claimed that the White House believes it is close to an agreement with Iran on a one-page memorandum of understanding to end the war and create a framework for more detailed nuclear negotiations.

According to the Axios report, the agreement will include Iran’s commitment to suspend nuclear enrichment, the US’s agreement to lift sanctions and release billions of dollars in frozen Iranian assets, and the lifting of restrictions by both sides on transit through the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran has announced that at this stage, it will not hold talks on nuclear issues and that such negotiations are possible only after the complete end of the war.

On the other hand, the inclusion of a phrase such as “lifting sanctions” by Axios in this report, which has never been in the literature of American officials, could lead to a skeptical view of the Axios report.

The Islamic Republic of Iran had recently presented a fourteen-point plan to the American side through Pakistan, which was met with negative feedback from US President Donald Trump.

Axios says that the US expects Iran to respond on several key points in the next 48 hours.

On the other hand, Axios also takes a skeptical view of its report and warns of the emergence of uncertain conditions.
