Khalil Al-Hayyah: Israel must be required to fully implement its commitments
The head of the Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip emphasized this morning (Thursday) that until the Zionist regime fully implements its commitments in the first phase of the ceasefire agreement, there will be no talks about entering the second phase, and mediators must force Tel Aviv to adhere to the agreement.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Khalil Al-Hayyah, head of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement "Hamas" in the Gaza Strip, said that all those targeted by the Zionist regime in the "Al-Darj" neighborhood on Wednesday are Palestinian children.

Al-Hayyah explained in an interview with Al-Jazeera this morning (Thursday, May 7): "[In this attack] all the Palestinian people have been targeted, and these are occupation actions that cannot be justified."

He continued: "The message of the occupiers is that no one is above the law and the entire population has been targeted. The occupiers are defying the agreements and all resolutions.”

The Hamas official stated: “The negotiations have been halted due to Israel’s stubbornness and non-compliance with the Sharm el-Sheikh agreement. The occupiers are ignoring everything, and this should make the guarantors and mediators take their responsibilities seriously.”

Al-Hayyah continued: “We have taken several initiatives and fulfilled all our commitments, but the occupiers have not fulfilled their commitments. The Zionist enemy is standing firm and refusing to fulfill its commitments, which prevents the transition to the second stage.”

Al-Jazeera quoted him as saying: “Can we move to the second stage without allowing the Technocrat Committee to participate? Who wants to move to the second stage when the first stage has not yet been implemented? The Technocrat Committee must enter the Gaza Strip.”

The head of Hamas in Gaza, stating that the mediators are the main guarantors of the ceasefire and are trying, but the occupiers are the stubborn side, said: “We call on the mediators, the international community and President [US] Trump to force the occupiers to implement the agreement.”

Al-Hayyah continued in the interview: “We want the ceasefire to be maintained, the reconstruction to continue and to see the Israeli occupiers withdraw. If the Israeli occupiers implement the first phase, we are ready to discuss the second phase.”

He continued: “Our position is clear; there is an agreement and we are its signatories. The guarantors and mediators must force the Israeli occupiers to implement it. Implementing the first phase of the agreement is the key to the commitment of the Israeli occupiers.”

The Hamas leader also added: “We are in favor of stability and rights and we want our people to have an independent state.”
