Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) : Ushakov, an assistant to the Russian president, said: Moscow has agreed to the proposal to extend the ceasefire with Ukraine and exchange 2,000 prisoners of war.
The Ukrainian president also announced: Within the framework of the negotiation process mediated by the American side, we received Russia's agreement to exchange 1,000 prisoners for 1,000 prisoners. The ceasefire will also be in effect from May 9 to 11.
Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense, citing the decree of President Vladimir Putin, had announced that the ceasefire to commemorate Victory Day would be implemented on May 8 and 9.
Moscow had asked the Ukrainian side to take similar action, but Kiev declared two different days, May 5th and 6th (15 and 16 Saur 1405), as ceasefires.
