Former Congressman: Why is there no news about the pilots rescued from Iran?
Former US Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene asked in a message on X a few hours ago, referring to the operation that the US claimed was carried out to rescue the downed fighter pilots in Iran, “Where are the pilots who crashed in Iran and were rescued? Are they okay? Why have we not heard from them?”
While the US has repeatedly claimed to have destroyed Iran’s defenses and military capabilities, following the downing of a US fighter jet inside Iranian territory on the 14th of March, the US military claimed to have carried out an operation to rescue one of the two pilots who had failed to escape. During this operation, which became known as Tabas 2, the US lost at least 8 of its advanced aircraft. Despite this disaster, Donald Trump claimed victory and claimed to have rescued the pilot.
A claim that BBC analyst Bushra Sheikh had responded to by saying, “A large number of military members have been seriously injured, the rescued officer is in critical condition and may not even survive. Several American planes were shot down by Iran and now he (Trump) is selling Disneyland to the world again. He talks a lot of nonsense.”
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei had earlier responded to a question about the operation in Isfahan province and the alleged theft of enriched uranium, saying, “The possibility that this was a deception operation to steal enriched uranium should not be ignored. But what is clear is that the result of this operation was nothing but Tabas-2.”
